The Artist Within

Last week we bought George an easel — one side is a white board and the other side is a chalkboard. He’s been begging every day to “please do crafts, Mommy?” so I’ve been letting him draw a lot.

While I was at Holcomb’s, I found a little flannel board with an airport background. He’s been playing with it all week, so today I went to JoAnn’s and picked up some fleece and a foam board and made him his own flannel board. We’ve cut out pumpkins and we make up stories with his train/plane/hot air balloon flannels, and I’ve found some neat cut outs of numbers and letters. In fact, I just won an eBay auction for a Thomas the Tank Engine flannel set! He’ll be so excited.

I found a lot of ideas on this homeschooling mom’s web site.

Oh, and he’s actually pretty good at the harmonica! It’s hilarious to watch him play, he cups his left hand over his right and makes a “wah-wah” sound like a real blues player. Makes me laugh every time I see it.

Crunchy Cons in Cleveland

So I created a Yahoo! Group for crunchy cons in the Cleveland area. I am so tired of every mailing list and online group that I join being full of people who don’t believe that a conservative can also be an environmentalist and a proponent of AP.

So here’s a link for anyone interested.
